THE POWER OF CHANGE

Organizations ask a lot of their employees.
With emerging technology, business growth, and
regularly evolving processes, change is not only common – it’s nearly constant.
Onboarding marks the beginning of a new role, requiring employees to shed what they know and adapt quickly. New systems and software force people to work differently, often under pressure. Updated policies shift how employees interact with one another. Leadership styles, communication norms, and team dynamics require continual adjustment throughout the workday.
Change is woven into nearly every moment of an employee’s career. And they’re expected to navigate it while juggling meetings, deadlines, and competing priorities.
My name is Amanda Armeni. I have over 11 years of corporate Instructional Design experience. I’ve spent my career working within large, nationally recognized organizations, supporting enterprise-scale learning initiatives in fast-paced and highly regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, communication infrastructure, and most recently, health and wellness retail.
When I started this instructional design studio, I knew the name needed to reflect transformation. A phoenix is the ultimate symbol of change – burning down what no longer works and rising stronger from the ashes. In the corporate world, that means intentionally deconstructing outdated processes, ineffective habits, and rusty techniques to build something clearer, more efficient, and more powerful in their place.
That belief became the foundation of Phoenix Learning Solutions.
THE PHOENIX DIFFERENCE
Effective training must address the needs of the organization, or the outcomes employees must reach once learning is complete. Too often, training stops there. The business requirements are met, the project is checked off, and the assumption is that change has occurred

But true transformation doesn’t happen when only the business is considered. Change that sticks requires learner constraints to be factored in as well.
Employees are the ones doing the hard work of burning down old ways of thinking and rebuilding new behaviors in real time. Training frequently overlooks this reality. It doesn’t account for the fact that adult learners need a clear reason to engage (“What’s in it for me?”), a logical path through the learning, and help staying focused when their attention is constantly pulled in multiple directions.

Phoenix Learning Solutions was created to design training that accounts for both sides of change – the business objectives and the learner experience – so learning doesn’t just inform, but transforms.
Every solution I design is grounded in the following principles:
OBJECTIVES & STORY
Have you ever watched a movie that was overly complicated – too many characters, a tangled plot, quiet dialogue buried beneath loud background noise – and found yourself lost? This happens far too often in training. Instructional designers must write concisely, clearly frame learning objectives, and intentionally circle back to them throughout a course. But listing objectives alone isn’t enough.

My background in creative writing gives me a unique perspective: effective training has a narrative arc. A learning experience should move logically from beginning to end, with each element building on the last. By the time learners reach the conclusion, they should see how the pieces connect, how each objective reinforces the others, and how the learning applies directly to their role. Only then can new habits replace old ones.
DETAIL ORIENTATION
Transformation doesn’t happen without precision. In instructional design, small details like word choice, spacing, and hierarchy shape how learners process information. But attention to detail goes deeper than visual polish.
It means accuracy is never compromised. Data is verified. Processes are explained step by step. Critical information is never misleading, especially in Legal, HR, or compliance contexts. Accessibility is intentionally built so all learners can participate fully. When details are handled with care, confusion is reduced and learners are free to focus on developing themselves to be stronger.
BOLD, STRIKING DESIGN
Design plays a critical role in whether learners are willing to engage with training. While strong writing is essential, visual design shapes how a course is perceived, trusted, and used.
User experience research shows that aesthetically refined materials are perceived as more credible and approachable. When training feels intentional and well-crafted, learners are more likely to pay attention, stay engaged, and remain open to the change the learning is meant to support. Thoughtful design helps reduce friction so learners can focus on growth rather than resistance.
A CONTAINED PROCESS
Phoenix Learning Solutions intentionally operates as a single-designer studio. I maintain complete ownership of every detail – ensuring consistency, efficiency, and a level of quality that’s difficult to achieve in larger, hand-off-heavy teams.

Because the work is fully contained, projects move forward with clarity and momentum. There’s no time lost translating vision across layers of stakeholders, no misalignment between strategy and execution, and no risk of quality slipping between phases. What you see on this website is a direct reflection of how projects are built in practice: thoughtfully planned, carefully executed, and designed to work in real-world corporate environments with real constraints.

This approach also allows for a practical, respectful workflow. I value efficiency, clear communication, and one-time delivery. The result is a process that feels calm and predictable while producing polished, engaging training that's built to last.
DESIGNING FOR ENGAGEMENT & RETENTION
At Phoenix Learning Solutions, we believe learners should be engaged from start to finish. Aesthetic, bold design combined with professional, down-to-earth writing helps learners pay attention and understand information the first time.

But engagement is only the starting point when we want to forge real change. Retention is the end goal.

Many modern training solutions focus on capturing attention through fast-paced videos, quick transitions, and constant motion. These approaches can feel engaging in the moment – but engagement alone doesn't guarantee understanding, retention, and real-world application.

That's why we go the extra step. Our training is grounded in adult learning theory, which emphasizes learner time, structure, and control. Key concepts remain visible on screen long enough to be processed and only move forward when the learner chooses to continue. When attention is pulled away by an email, message, or coworker, learners can reorient themselves before moving on – instead of being left behind.

Ideas are reinforced through clear organization, thoughtful pacing, and opportunities to revisit information when needed. Learning isn't treated as something to be consumed quickly – but rather, something to be understood deeply and applied confidently.
At the end of the day, I want to bring something to the learning industry that I rarely see: engaging design that invites learners in while never compromising instructional integrity.
I build training that helps employees navigate the complex, everchanging beast that is the corporate world with clarity and confidence.
But most importantly, training forged at Phoenix Learning Solutions doesn’t just help learners burn down what no longer serves them – it makes them want to strike the match themselves.
